Write to Roma
if you’d like to respond, ask questions, or get in touch.
Before you write
Roma is an author, not a counsellor
She has no training as one, and this is not a crisis line. What Roma has is her own story, written down. She is glad to answer questions about the book, about her healing, and about what the journey was like.
What she is not able to be is an ongoing support for other survivors walking their own road. That is not for lack of caring. It is the honest limit of one woman who has come through it herself, and who is still walking her own path.
If you need someone today
Please reach people who are trained for it. In Canada you can call or text 9-8-8 at any hour, any day. They will take you seriously, and they can stay with you in a way that a message to an author cannot.
If you write to us in distress, someone will read it and point you toward real help — but it may be a while before anyone sees it, so please reach out to them first.
Share your name only if you want to
A first name, an initial, or nothing at all is fine. If you would rather Roma not reply to you — say that in your message and she will read it and leave it there. Roma will do her best to reply to your questions.
Speaking and podcasts
Roma is open to speaking and would prefer an interview style. Tell us your idea and we will see what we can make work.
Please be concise
Roma looks forward to responding to your questions. If you include any of your own story, she would appreciate it if you would be concise.
